NOL Card

Nol card, issued by RTA, enables Dubai’s public transportation users to pay for their fare. Actually, Nol card is the only method of payment RTA would accept in its network, that includes Dubai Metro, Tram, Buses and Water Buses. Cash is no longer accepted as a method of payment. Nol card can also be used to pay for RTA parking fees. Nol card allows passengers to use different public transportation means and pay with a single card. You can get a Nol card at Ticket Offices and/or Ticket Vending Machines (in all Metro Stations and Bus Stations), RTA Customer Service Centres, Authorized Sales Agents and online.

There are four types of Nol cards: Silver, Gold, Blue and Red. Each one of them is designed to meet the needs of different passenger categories.

Silver Card  Plastic rechargeable card, ideal for starters and occasional users. Price AED 25 (including AED 19 e-purse).

Gold Card  Same features and price with Silver Card with the additional privilege of riding Metro in Gold Class carriages.

Blue Card  Personalized plastic rechargeable card, ideal for heavy users, students, senior citizens and people with special needs. Price AED 70 (including AED 20 e-purse).

Red Ticket  Paper non-rechargeable but pre-loaded card, ideal for tourists and rare users. Red ticket can be purchased pre-loaded with up to ten trips and used in one single mode of transportation at a time. Tickets expire 90 days after the day of purchase.

In order to be charged with the correct fare, card users must scan their cards at card scanners both at the beginning and the end of their trip. If they do not scan the card at the exit, they will be charged with the maximum fare, regardless of the length of their trip. Card scanners are located at the entrance and exit points of all Metro and Water Bus stations and at the entrance of all buses.

RTA has also introduced new products, like 7, 30, 90 and 365-day passes and offers special discounts to students, senior citizens and people with special needs.
