Palm Jumeirah

THE PALM JUMEIRAH

The Palm Jumeirah is the first large scale offshore project of its kind, created by land reclamation off the Jumeirah coast. The Palm, as its name implies, is a large palm tree shaped man-made island. It consists of a 2 km long trunk, 17 fronds forming a crown and a crescent on the far end. Construction of the project started in June 2001. Palm Jumeirah has several residential buildings and villa clusters plus a number of luxury hotels. Atlantis The Palm was the first hotel to be built, followed by ZabeelSaray, Kempinski, Waldorf Astoria and Anantara, to name a few.
