Atlantis the Palm

  • Atlantis the Palm

Atlantis, The Palm is a 5 star luxury resort located at the far end of the Palm Jumeirah. It was the first hotel built in the famous man-made island. Its Grand Opening, on September 24th, 2008, was attended by many celebrities, actors, singers and members of the international jet-set. The climax of the festivities was a huge display of fireworks that lit up the sky above Dubai for 15 minutes and, according to the display creator, set a new world record.

Atlantis, The Palm is themed on the myth of Atlantis and is in many aspects the Arabian sister of Atlantis Paradise Island in Bahamas. The 1,539 room resort has two wings, known as the Royal Towers, connected by the Royal Bridge Suite.

The Aquaventure Water Park, a 17-hectare amusement park, and Dolphin Bay, a dolphin education and conservation centre, are housed in Atlantis. Also an underwater exhibit and marine habitat, known as the Ambassador Lagoon, houses more than 65,000 marine animals. A group of qualified personnel, including aquarists, veterinarians, quality technicians and specialized chefs, takes care of the marine animals at Atlantis.  Atlantis has two Underwater Suites with bedroom and bathroom windows facing the Ambassador Lagoon.

Atlantis has more than 23 dining outlets including restaurants created by three Michelin awarded chefs: Nobu Matsuhisa (Nobu), Gordon Ramsay (Bread Street) and Giorgio Locatelli (Ronda Locatelli).

Since its opening, Atlantis has received many international travel, hospitality and spa awards. It has also been the filming site for several films and TV series.
