The government of Dubai has designated a large part of the city and the surrounding suburbs as “freehold areas”. The real estate in the freehold areas is available to all investors regardless of their immigration status. Dubai Land Department (DLD) is the governmental body that regulates and controls the real estate sector through its executive arm the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA).
