DDF Tennis Centre (formerly known as Aviation Club) is a modern sports complex located in Dubai’s Garhoud locality, close to Dubai International airport.
A 5,000 seat tennis court occupies most of the Centre’s grounds, together with state-of-the-art facilities, press offices, ATP & WTA offices and VIP and Royal suites. Since its inception in 1993, the Centre plays host to the DDF Tennis Championships, held at the DDF Tennis Stadium. The Championships are part of both ATP & WTA World Tours and top names from both Associations, such as: Goran Ivanisevic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport and Venus Williams, have won first prizes during the years. JPMorgan, Rolex, Lacoste, Audi and Emirates Airlines are among the heavyweights that sponsor the Championships. The stadium is also used as a concert venue, with big names, like Sting, Enrique Iglesias, Coolio and other internationally renowned artists, having performed in front of large audiences. Tennis fans can combine tennis with a night out, starting with a nice dinner at Global Village and ending up at Irish Village, one of the most famous bars in Dubai. Accommodations close to the stadium are provided by Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, owned by DDF.
